What should we being doing right now…..?

And what are we actually doing!

Well, right now we should be cleaning our super frames, checking our kit and deciding about buying a new hive. We are not doing any of that. Firstly work is too busy, second we have to buy two new car seats and thirdly we are never here at the same time and not so exhausted we can do anything other than prepare for the next day and then slump in front of the telly!

I have been thinking though, and remembering. In November we went to Dubai and found honey for sale in the Dubai Mall. This might not seem to interesting but none of it was from Dubai. It was all from middle eastern countries ranging from Lebanon to Oman. Why not Dubai? There are only a tiny number of beekeepers there. Domestic bee keeping has not yet taken off and where it has there is a greater level of worry with regards to how safe beekeeping is. It is an interesting issue given the development of a city in a desert and the place that plants have there. It is quite a green city in places but it is all manicured. Next time I will be looking hard for a beehive!
