Honey
Our bee story is not great at the moment. We have been able to harvest some honey but more because we had to rather than wanted to. Our laying workers were sorted out, thats all good but we had a swarm to replace one hive and we don’t think it took so its slowly diminishing. Our remaining hive is very small so not sure it will get though the winter.
Anyway on the positive front the honey is delicious. It is the colour of lemon curd and we think comes from rapeseed which was in the fields over the railway. It tasted different to our other honey which is great as it really shows the difference between the harvests and plants available to the bees.
Drawing the honey has been described in a previous post and it was the same this time around – check back to see but I cannot resist posting a few pics of this time too.
The honey looks lovely,
